World No. 7 Alexander Zverev has been brilliant, so far this season. The German played his first Grand Slam finals at the US Open 2020, won two titles at the ATP Cologne, and ended as the runner-up at the Rolex Paris Masters 2020. Speaking in an interview, 3-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray praised Zverev extensively for his consistency and temperament.
“I think the US Open was a breakthrough tournament for him. But, the final was a tough one…it was a tough match to lose. But since then, he has performed well. At Cologne, he won two titles. At Paris, he had a good run. He has obviously had some off-court issues which have not looked good for him. We’ll have to wait and see what will happen in the coming months,” said a cheerful Murray.
The British player was speaking on the show ‘Twitch’ hosted by none other than French tennis superstar Gael Monfils. In the introduction, Monfils appreciated Zverev for his late incredible performances and said that he could win a Slam in the upcoming year.
