The Serb defeated peers like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka amongst others numerous times in his careers and has 18 grand-slam titles to his name. Even off the court, Djokovic has been the brand ambassador of several top brands like ASICS, Lacoste, Head, and Peugeot.

In a recent advertisement to promote the silent electric cars launched by Peugeot, the Serbian tennis star was seen reminiscing his past, how he embraced negativity around him, and the constant critiquing of his actions on and off the court.

This one-minute long clip showed tennis fans a journey into Djokovic’s self. The world number one talked about how people always questioned him for his actions on-court.

During his initial days of playing tennis, the Serb was called off by commentators for taking too much time to bounce the ball before serve.

They said you take too long. They said you are too loud, too impulsive”, Djokovic said in the commercial.

Djokovic also faced backlash for venting out his emotions at times on a tennis court. But, letting them out during a high-octane contest has helped the Serb play incredible tennis that entertained fans across the globe.

Honestly, the idea of the whole advertisement is to let viewers know that it’s absolutely fine to be who you are, and no one should try changing their personality for the sake of others.

Novak Djokovic is a revelation in this regard. The Serb always answered critics by winning matches and titles. By the end of the clip, the Serb said, “And if they keep talking and talking, let them talk”.

The above line aptly describes Djokovic’s incredible rise to the pinnacle of tennis. It was a graceful attempt by Peugeot to combine Djokovic’s career with the brand of silent cars launched by them.

Sometimes silence is the best way to be heard”, the advertisement ends with this caption. While a conservative sport like tennis has seen the likes of diplomatic personalities like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, players like Novak Djokovic can bring about a change in the way certain issues are handled in tennis.
