‘Rookie’ Maria Sharapova Riddled With Anxiety as She Gets Ready to Partner Superbrat John McEnroe for a Whole New Slam Experience

Russian tennis legend Maria Sharapova shared her anxiety over her recent participation in Pickleball Slam 2. In this season, this tennis’s former number-one will be pairing up with another legend, John McEnroe. However, their opponent is nowhere less extravagant than them as Steffi Graff and Andre Agassi will be playing against Sharapova and McEnroe. While both Agassi and McEnroe had already tasted the inaugural tournament of the Slam, Sharapova was new to the scene. That is why maybe, she felt a little anxious to take up the racquet again.

Maria Sharapova who has been currently enjoying her motherhood in all glory, surprised fans with her participation in the match. Nearly two years after her retirement, fans will see this Russian tennis god with her marvelous strokes on the court. However, the long pause in the middle is making Sharapova a little anxious before the match.

The Pickleball Slam will take place on the 4th of February and Sharapova seemed a little anxious. Why wouldn’t that be? This is a new sport for her and given her competitive attitude, her anxiousness is quite justified to the fans.

Sharapova recently said- “Yeah I am slightly anxious about the whole thing, I mean this is I feel like I am rookie going into something I have never experienced before, which is like sometimes good because the feelings will come out its like I don’t have any experience to back on but I am also competitive and I wanna win but I know that perhaps other might be better than I am in this particular sport so we’ll see time will tell.”

Sharing Sharapova’s candid statement on their official Instagram profile, The Pickleball Slam posted a comment- “Sounds like @mariasharapova is getting her head into this challenge and prepping for the Slam 2 showdown on February 4th!” Following this candid expression, Sharapova fans can’t keep calm but wait for this legend’s performance on February 4th.

While Sharapova seemed happy and anxious both regarding her participation in the Pickleball Slam 2, her opponent Steffi Graff seemed quite cheerful facing off the Russian tennis beauty on the court. Graff appeared in Andre Agassi’s promotional video, where she dropped messages for both McEnroe and Sharapova.

Graff said-” Last year was such a blast, I can only imagine we’re gonna have a great, great time. So, really looking forward to seeing you down at the Hardrock.”
