In the world of tennis, there are many instances where the players have come out in the spotlight after they have been caught doping. The same was the case with Tara Moore who was banned back in June 2022 after the contaminated substance was found in her blood. Despite her suggesting that she took it unknowingly, the case has been stretched for a really long time now. Speaking in favor of the star was PTPA, an organization by Novak Djokovic.

The PTPA, known for standing up for players’ rights, is quietly backing Tara Moore in her doping case appeal. While suggesting that a lot has happened with her over the course, they want things to proceed in a better way.

Novak Djokovic’s group, the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), is backing Tara Moore as she faces an appeal in her doping case. The PTPA finds it disappointing that Moore, who has been through a lot since June 2022, including a suspension, public scrutiny, ranking loss, financial troubles, and emotional stress, is now dealing with a lengthy appeal process.

Moore won her case in December after a tough 19 months. The PTPA has been helping Moore throughout and promises to continue supporting her as they face this new challenge. They want to ensure that the players’ rights are protected and push for fair changes in tennis’ anti-doping system, which they see as flawed and unfair.

“The ITIA’s decision to challenge Tara Moore’s exoneration is disappointing given the turmoil she’s faced since June 2022. Tara’s successful case before the Sport Resolutions independent tribunal in December came following 19 months of a provisional suspension, public humiliation, loss of ranking, no prize money, lawyer fees and emotional turmoil,” the ITIA said.

“It’s saddening that Tara now faces an appeal process that could take years. The PTPA has worked with Tara and her team to protect her due process throughout the last year and will continue to do so as they navigate this next challenge. We remain committed to ensuring players’ rights are upheld, and to pushing tennis’ stakeholders to implement sensible changes to a deeply flawed and unjust process,” they further added.

Thus, the PTPA, backed by Novak Djokovic came ahead and extended their heartfelt support to Tara Moore who has been battling for her doping ban for a long time now.

It was back in June 2022 when Tara Moore first got a provisional suspension for a prohibited substance found in her sample during a WTA event in Colombia. While she said that she did not know anything about this, it was present in her body. However, after certain tests, Tara Moore was cleared by the ITIA. The independent tribunal suggested that the substance that she consumed was contaminated meat. Moore and Barbara Gatica had consumed it before the sample collection which eventually led to their blood samples showing contaminated material.

Despite Moore saying that she never knowingly took the banned substance, the ITIA delayed the verdict which eventually caused her 19 months of emotional distress. After the verdict came out, she expressed her relief, while talking about the toll on her reputation, ranking, and livelihood.

Thus, the PTPA came ahead and extended their support to Tara Moore while suggesting that it is a really long time she has been tackling the case and the result should come out soon.
