When the two started dating, Mirka was still an active player. However, an unfortunate foot injury in 2002 forced her to retire rather early in her career. Mirka used to frequently attend Roger’s matches with their four children. Mirka and their sets of twins were in the stands as Roger won Wimbledon in 2017. Roger has been vocal about his desire to remain humble despite being one of the world’s best tennis players, and he credits Mirka with helping him determine his priorities.

Mirka, according to the Grand Slam winner, is also in charge of his style. On Instagram, he shared a throwback picture of himself as a teenager and captioned it, “Reminding everyone there are better days ahead #weekend #vibes #premirka #teen #wearingmyfirsttie.”

After winning the 2017 Australian Open, he attributed his longevity in part to Mirka’s support. “She’s been there when I had no titles, and she’s still here 89 titles later, so she had a big part to play in [the win],” he said after the final.

When Roger Federer announced his retirement in September 2022, he personally thanked Mirka, saying, “She has warmed me up before finals, watched countless matches even while over 8-months pregnant, and has endured my goofy side on the road with my team for over 20 year.”

Roger stated at a news conference that he was looking forward to traveling with his sons. “You need to be well organized, but by now we know how it works.
