Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 US Open has taken many safety measures. Despite these measures, players withdrew from the event as they did not feel safe. However, Australian tennis player John Millman is playing the event and he has complemented the organizers for their efforts.

John Millman On US Open Safety Measures

John Millman is currently in the United States preparing for the upcoming events. From what he has seen so far, he feels that the USTA has done a really good job to make the event safe for players. In a recent tweet, the Australian said,

“First impressions of the US Open series are really positive. It’s noticeable how hard the USTA has worked to create a comfortable and safe environment. I’m pumped to be back playing. Top effort from the entire USTA team.”

The United States has recorded the most COVID-19 cases and hence, the US Open had to make the event as safe as possible. They have decided not to allow fans. They are also testing for the virus and are minimizing the number of people required on court. While this is good, some players have found these measures very extreme.
