Boston Celtics have had a disappointing start to the season as they lost for the fourth time in six games. They had a busy off-season as they added eight players to their roster and the expectations are high. However, after winning two consecutive games, the Celtics lost two games consecutively against the Wizards.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined for 61 points in Washington, but couldn’t prevent a 2nd consecutive defeat to the Wizards. It appeared that the Celtics might run away with a win after having a strong 2nd half. But they failed to capitalize on the strong run and allowed the Wizards to score to run away with their fifth win of the season.

The star of the night was Bradley Beal, who scored 36 points in 46 mins. Already one of the best guards in the league, Beal is reportedly being recruited by Celtics’ Jayson Tatum.

“I think, more so, just thinking about how cool it would be to play with him. Just how we grew up and how close we are. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about. We didn’t get the opportunity with the USA team, but we did get to play with each other in the all-star game last year, which was a special moment. You know what I mean. Just, like playing in the NBA with your big brother. Who wouldn’t want to do that?”

Tatum was then asked about Bradley Beal’s response to this conversation. To this, Tatum admitted that they both like the idea of playing with each other.

“There’s a lot that goes into that. Obviously. And there’s decisions that he would have to make, what’s best for his family. The idea of it we both like the idea of it for sure.”

This is a huge move from Jayson Tatum. The Celtics have had a strong off-season and signed some of the top stars of the league. With Bradley Beal’s arrival, the Celtics could challenge the top teams such as the Nets, the Bucks in the Eastern Conference. Last season, the Celtics qualified for the playoffs through the newly established play-in format. With Beal’s arrival, they could make a strong case for a direct qualification spot.

Bradley Beal has been with the Wizards since 2012. So it won’t be easy to recruit him. However, Tatum and Beal are childhood friends and even went to the same college. They have always dreamed of playing together, and this could be a massive boost for the Celtics if it happens.
