“Big Will Smith Bombs”: Pat McAfee Makes Hilarious Reference After Oscars Ban During WWE SmackDown

When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during the Oscars, little did he know that he would become immensely famous across the globe.. but for all the wrong reasons.

One of the first places where he became a sensation following the incident is WWE. Legends, Superstars, and the fans investigated the slap from their point of view, and some believe it was nothing but kayfabe.

Was it just a storyline to create a buzz? Maybe.

However, not only did he become a social media sensation, but also a popular reference during live shows.

Coming to WWE SmackDown: April 8th, 2022, Gunther arrived on The Blue Brand, and debuted against Joe Alonzo. During the match, Gunther smacked Alonzo across the chest. This is when colour commentator Pat McAfee made a reference to Will Smith’s actions.

“Big Will Smith bombs to the chest, boots to the mouth.”

Some of the fans couldn’t contain their laughter during this comment by the former NFL punter.

Now, there’s no ounce of doubt that Smith has unlocked a new level of getting trolled by members of the WWE Universe.

Logan Paul referenced Will Smith during his post-WrestleMania interview

At WrestleMania 38, Logan Paul and The Miz defeated The Mysterios. However, when they were celebrating, The Miz executed a Skull Crushing Finale on Paul, leaving him baffled in the ring.

During the backstage interview, Paul revealed that The Miz attacking him was equivalent to Smith slapping Rock in terms of processing the incident.

Apart from Logan Paul, some others have reacted to the Smith-Rock fiasco by calling out Smith’s action. But, most of those mentions are about whether or not the slap was scripted.

The Academy Awards board has taken a decision about the slap

After Smith’s action, Rock refused to take the matter further. But, the board launched a formal investigation about the same. After taking all the points into consideration, the board has decided to ban Will Smith from the event for the next ten years.

Will Smith has accepted this decision and hasn’t tried to overturn the decision.
