Bioware’s work on the improved loot and equipment system in Anthem
The devs have worked to make the loot experience better and more streamlined with the game’s rework. Mind you, it is still under progress.
Firstly, devs have focused on making the loot experience less time-consuming. A major step they intend to take in this direction is by increasing the frequency of loot drops in the game and an optimized occurrence of exceptional items in the loot pool.
They have also worked on the streamlining of goals in this aspect by letting players have the choice to pursue a specific kind of loot, with Specialized Vendors, Unique Loot Tables, and quests. Moreover, now you will also be able to modify the loot. You can reroll inscriptions and level up items. Also, devs are planning to make it so that slaying rare enemies gets you a whole cluster of loot.
Managing the equipment system: changes to expect
In terms of managing loot and equipment, devs are planning to make the items ready to reveal and equip straight away. In addition to this, the equipment sheet will be revamped to include detailed stats as well. Devs also plan to make the equipment sheet accessible from anywhere.
A rather interesting equipment overhaul is that now items will have a “budget inscription” based on its rarity and power. Moreover, exceptional items will now be all about getting the exact types of bonuses the player wants. Using advanced telemetry data allowing them to recognize trends, devs will be making necessary balance changes accordingly.
