Rafael Nadal opened this academy in 2016 in his hometown Manacor. He has described this as a very special project for him. Ever since then, players like Jaume Munar and Casper Ruud who are from the academy have done very well in tennis breaking into the ATP top 100.
Clearly, they have been successful which is why Rafael Nadal decided to expand. Instead of having just one academy in Manacor, he decided to open another academy. He decided to open his academy in Kuwait and inaugurated it very recently. We might see some top players from there too.
