The results of the Mr. Olympia 2023 have been pretty controversial, with different theories and opinions by both the elite bodybuilders and fans bodybuilding community clashing against each other. After the legends Ronnie Coleman, Milos Sarcev, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger declared that none of the athletes were in their best state, everybody flooded the social media platforms with who should have won ideally.

The veteran Bodybuilder did a very similar thing in one of his recent interviews. According to Shawn Ray, if his advice was taken, Chris Bumstead would have the full capability to win the title of Open Mr. Olympia. 

Shawn Ray thinks Chris Bumstead should have stolen the show

Generation Iron Muscle and Fitness recently took to their official Instagram account and shared a bit from a recent interview with Shawn Ray. They made a collage of Shawn Ray and Chris Bumstead posing on the Mr. Olympia stage and in the caption claimed that Shawn Ray has the perfect solution for the 4X Mr. Olympia winner, which will help him win the Open Mr. Olympia.

In the caption, they wrote, “Would Chris Bumstead have won the 2023 Mr. Olympia?! Shawn Ray believes he has what it takes to be a future champ if he makes the jump👀 “. Shawn Ray is not the only one who thinks Chris Bumstead has got the full potential but is not taking the leap of faith. The verdict has come from a lot of other bodybuilders too.

However, the fitness community does not accept the prediction as a just one and they share their opinions on the post. While some think Bumstead’s physique is too out of fashion, others think that his win is limited only to the Classic. Shawn Ray received a lot of criticism for his statement.

Fans left in disagreement with Shawn Ray’s advice for Chris Bumstead

The entire community flooded Generation Iron’s post with comments expressing them going south with Shawn Ray’s idea of the Mr. Olympia win. They criticized him with comments like, “Shawn Ray is getting so old he’s losing it” and “Shawn Ray needs new lenses”. A follower even pointed out why CBum can never win in the Open division writing, “His auto-immune disease will hold him back. I agree if he was 270-280 on stage being 6’1 but he would have to be 300+ in the off-season he would end up killing himself.”

A follower, stating that Chris Bumstead has already made enough accomplishments, even commented, “He should retire at this point. Not worth the harm and he has nothing to prove.
