Mike O’Hearn tweeted a picture of himself with the caption, “It’s your life, your one and only life, so take excellence very personally.” It’s a known fact among the bodybuilding fraternity that O’Hearn admires his physique and he loves working out to excel every day. Thus, the Titan believes not just in getting better physically, he works out with a target to get better mentally.

He posted on his YouTube channel the valuable insight of how to work out differently, in which he explained to his fans and followers the significance of going off-leash. Being an athlete and a bodybuilder himself, he said, “I say leash off sometimes. When the leash is off, it just means don’t do the workout to try to get better, do the workout to try to get mentally better and challenge yourself.” He goes on to explain that one’s goal should be to get mental peace.

Thus, he quotes along the same lines, “That sets you pull up are better than any kind of workout. When you leash off while you’re working out and get into a fight with the weights.” Mike O’Hearn believes that the true intensity lies in the reps and sets, and that’s where the body derives its actual conditioning. O’Hearn does not lift heavy weights. Also, the Titan believes in power bodybuilding as he once shared.

Mike O’Hearn and Power Bodybuilding

In one of his YouTube videos, the 54-YO Titan confessed, “I’m also doing power bodybuilding but cutting up.” So during a cut, most bodybuilders reduce their calorie intake and start training with lighter weights, as they increase their sets and reps. Thus, this tactic helps bodybuilders improve their conditioning and it further reveals the gains made while the bulking phase was going on.
