It all started with Cutler’s mischievous jab at Martinez during his Lifetime Achievement Award speech at the 2024 Arnold Classic which seemed to reignite the competitive spirit within Martinez. In response, Martinez took to social media with a video and pranked fans with an announcement, hinting at a participation in the upcoming 2024 Mr. Olympia.

A post shared by Generation Iron, showcased Martinez’s video, accompanied with a caption, “BREAKING: Victor Martinez confirms – Jay Cutler and Victor Martinez to do battle on the 2024 Mr. Olympia stage.” In the video, one could see Martinez fresh off the Arnold Classic in Ohio, revving up for 2024 with the ambition to challenge Quad Stomp at the Olympia.  Martinez expressed his determination to elevate his game in the new year, while acknowledging Jay Cutler’s well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award at the Arnold Classic, extending his congratulations.

But Martinez wasn’t content with merely applauding his successes. He seemed to be setting his sights on the Olympia stage, aiming to go head-to-head with the Cutler. “We have signed the contract, we’re gonna face off, it’s gonna be a repeat ’07. Can’t wait to do it. Training starts now,” said the former Arnold Classic champ. That being said, the thrilling declaration did not fool fans, and their reaction to the news was filled with humor and sarcasm.

Many fans simply acknowledged that it’s April 1st, associated with pranks and jokes, with one user writing “Lol April 1st.” Another questioned the information due to the occasion, and wrote, “It’s April Fool’s Day, right?”

Although people understand that it’s April Fool’s Day, many eagerly wanted the legends to actually compete again in a throwback to the golden era spirit. “Who wants this to be not an April Fool’s Day trick?” wrote one such fan.
