Chris Bumstead, a 4-time Mr. Olympia classic title holder, talked about the differences between male and female bodybuilders in today’s time. He shared his thoughts with Chris Williams during a chest-day workout regime. In a recent video shared by Chris Williamson on his Instagram account, Chris asked questions to the Bodybuilding giant about the inequality in the realm of bodybuilding.

To which, 28 Years old replied in a polite manner. According to him, in this industry, people like to see a monstrous physique. He mentioned that people seem to prefer male bodybuilders rather than female bodybuilders on stage.

In the clip shared by Williams, Cbum made his points by saying, “I bet you had it again; we’re talking about men versus women and following an attraction and everything. Yeah, we went to a bodybuilding show, and you asked, what would you rather look at on stage?” He said this topic comes up a lot- the choice between male and female bodybuilders and what attracts people the most. He even remembered one time when Williams0n asked this question a few times back.

The Bodybuilder replied to this question of male vs. female by saying, “Right now, most of the crowd will be men, and almost all the guys said they’d rather watch the men on stage”. His statement explains that at a bodybuilding show, most of the crowd is men. When asked the audience at the show, they all chose male bodybuilders.

There’s an explanation for this that says, Male bodybuilders often fit the traditional image of the look. They have a gigantic physique that seems impressive for sports lovers.

Female bodybuilders who faced discrimination in the competition

Moreover, there are a lot of female bodybuilders who have spoken about inequality as well, a story of the tallest female bodybuilder, Maria Wattel. who holds a Guinness Book of World Records in 2021. Regardless of having been honored with the Guinness Book, she faced discrimination from the industry.

She spoke and made her stand against this issue. She often posts on her social media account about such kinds of events. She’s not the one who faced some difficulties. There are many who have gone through the same. She also said in one of her posts that people treat you differently and distinguish between tall male bodybuilders and female bodybuilders. According to her, people praise men for their tall height, On the other hand, they usually look women down upon if their height crosses the average limit.
