“2178 this is the first place I lived. no this is the second place I ever lived in my life. I would come here and there would be some n**gas smoking weed and shooting dice. Mike Tyson had to battle through a very hard childhood. He grew up with a father who left him and a mother with substance abuse issues. This led a young Tyson to take up crime and by the time he was twelve, he had been arrested several times for street robberies and burglaries in his neighborhood. Hence, he spent most of his early years in and out of juvenile homes and detention centers. However, luckily for Tyson, this was all about to change after he met up with a man called Bobby Stewart in Tryon Young offenders who taught him the basics of boxing in return for Tyson trying hard at his schoolwork.

This would eventually lead to Tyson meeting his mentor and future coach Cus D’Amato, who took Tyson under his wing and gave him a home, even adopting Tyson while also training and managing him. D’Amato turned Tyson into one of the most phenomenal young talents in the history of boxing and stated that Iron Mike would become the youngest World heavyweight champion.
