The undisputed super middleweight champion is set to make his return. Canelo Alvarez will square off against the interim WBO middleweight champion, John Ryder. Ryder has been a contender for a substantial period and it was only inevitable for him to compete for the title. The bout between the two screams fireworks for the fans. The odds have Alvarez as the favorite but the sport is as unpredictable as it gets and only time will reveal the victor between the two.
Alvarez is still the best in the super middleweight division. Though, he suffered a defeat against Dmitry Bivol last year. He is keen on avenging that defeats and has made his desire public numerable times. Though, he might have to change his plans.

Canelo Alvarez makes his pick between David Benavidez and Dmitry Bivol
David Benavidez has now become the mandatory contender for Alvarez. After defeating Caleb Plant in a unanimous decision last week, the fighter is all set to be the next opponent. Alvarez, the super middleweight champion, was interested in his rematch against Bivol. However, given the circumstances, he might have to face the “Mexican monster” next.
Online Boxing editor for talkSPORT.com MichaelBenson recently took to Twitter to state that Alvarez is interested in his grudge match against Bivol in September. Simultaneously, he is willing to consider his mandatory if the fight fails to come to fruition.The tweet stated,

Either or, both the match-ups are no walk in the park for Alvarez. Both competitors will give a tough fight to Alvarez. And both fight makes sense for Alvarez’s legacy. Needless to say that either bout will give fans a show worth their money.

Benavidez’s trash talk is not a “problem” for Canelo Alvarez
Benavidez has been very vocal about his desire to fight Alvarez. And at times, it may have been too aggressive. Though, Alvarez isn’t fazed by that. As per Marca, Alvarez stated, “At the end of the day, let him be with his hatred. It’s not my problem they don’t have anything else to talk about .”.
