It’s no secret that boxing has made several millionaires, but by far, the richest is Floyd Mayweather. He has never shied away from flaunting his luxurious lifestyle, whether it’s his clothes, cars, mansions, or even jewelry. However, he is not the only rich kid in town. Canelo Alvarez, his former opponent and an equally talented boxer, has garnered a substantial fortune of his own. The Mexican boxer makes $20 million each year from his real estate investments alone.
Despite his massive yearly earnings, Canelo’s real estate portfolio falls short of Floyd’s $20 billion ongoing deal. Both fighters made a name for themselves in their come-up in boxing. But Floyd had a knack for real estate investing; his first investment from his earnings was in real estate. In the past, Floyd had claimed he has multiple skyscrapers around the country that generate massive amounts of money each year. But what exactly is his $20 billion deal?

Floyd Mayweather’s $20 billion deal in detail
Floyd’s real goal has always been to become the highest-paid boxer in the world, something he achieved long ago. Even after his retirement, the first name that comes to mind when asked for the richest boxer in the world is his. In an interview with Jabari Young from Forbes, Floyd revealed that Andrew Mathias was the one who introduced him to the real estate scene in New York.
Furthermore, he also taught Floyd that boxers can only make money when they enter the ring and fight with their life on the line. However, a real estate investor can make money without even thinking about money. Later in the interview, he spoke about his $20 billion deal, claiming he is working on something big along with his business partner from Maimi. But he does not wish to reveal the nature of the deal yet.
Canelo Alvarez’s Real Estate Portfolio: Where it stands in comparison to Floyd Mayweather’s real estate empire
After his defeat against former rival Floyd Mayweather, Canelo seems to have strayed behind Floyd even in his real estate portfolio. On one hand, Floyd owns not one, not two, but nine skyscrapers across the country and claims to be working on the tenth. While he is not the sole owner of all the skyscrapers, he has made significant investments in each one. The most prominent one is the ‘One Vanderbilt’, a 93-story mega skyscraper in New York City. On top of that, Floyd is working on a $20 billion undisclosed real estate deal.

Canelo claimed that he generates $20 million every year from his real estate investments, as per a report from Forbes. The amount on its own is an enormous amount, but compared to Floyd’s real estate empire, it is not even a quarter of the amount. However, neither party seems to indicate stopping their investments. So there is a slim chance Canelo will someday overtake Mayweather.
Despite the disparity in their level of wealth, both fighters amassed considerable fortunes. They have achieved this incredible feat through hard work and determination. What’s more, their relentless chase for wealth doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
