It is reported that Ruiz will earn $1 million for the 12-round showdown. However, this purse is far lower than what he earned in his second fight against Anthony Joshua, where he earned $9 million.

Meanwhile, Ortiz’s fight purse is considerably lesser at $550,000.

The Isaac Cruz vs Eduardo Ramirez showdown will see them earn $200,000 and $175,000, respectively. Additionally, Mexican boxer and boxing analyst, Abner Mares, will earn $200,000 for his fight against Miguel Flores.

But Flores will be earning a modest $50,000 for the same fight.

Andy Ruiz extends support to Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua fought Oleksandr Usyk on August 20, 2022 at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Usyk emerged successfully in defending his titles while also winning the vacant The Ring heavyweight title. However, the fight was marred by controversy because of Joshua’s outburst.

Andy Ruiz Jr. was recently seen extending his support to Joshua. Ruiz mentioned how boxers have to go through extreme stress, both physically and mentally. He said, “Us fighters, I don’t know how we go through what we go through. This is a lonely sport and ‘AJ’ is an amazing guy and he’s going to be fine.”

It is worth noting that what Ruiz meant was that boxing is a ‘lonely sport’ where boxers have to perform on their own. Unlike team sports, where the players support each other. Moreover, he further added that Joshua needed to believe in himself. Ruiz said, “He needs to have more confidence in himself. He threw down the belts. I think he was just mad he didn’t get his way. But he’s still a hell of a guy.”

In a wholesome moment of sportsmanship, Ruiz also felt that even though his former opponent was overcome by emotion, he is still an amazing fighter and human being.
