Last month, Oleksandr Usyk pulled off one of the biggest boxing upsets of 2021 by beating Anthony Joshua. The underdog, who is known for tactically breaking and defeating his opponents, did the same against the big man from Britain and ended up being successful.

Ever since then, Joshua has been focused on the rematch with his Ukrainian contemporary. Also, over the past few days, the ex-champ met some of the most elite boxing coaches like Eddy Reynoso and Ronnie Shields. Hence, he is clearly looking to change things.

However, the Top Rank boss, Bob Arum, doesn’t see Joshua winning a rematch in any possible way.

Per The MacLife Official, Arum said, “Listen, whatever new trainer [Joshua] gets, he ain’t gonna beat Oleksandr Usyk. Not now, not next year, never. Usyk is too smart for him. Joshua is not gonna learn in six months what he never learned – how to fight a southpaw.”

Usyk, even with his big heavyweight frame, moved like a lightweight boxer against Anthony Joshua.

Jabs have always remained an unsung tool for the Ukrainian boxer. It was through them that he found most of his success against ‘AJ’. The former cruiserweight champ was consistent with his jabs and stamina throughout the fight. Moreover, he was also on the brink of knocking Joshua out in the final round.

With the skill sets Usyk brings to the table, he’s a sure-shot threat to the Brit. Given how their first match played out, Joshua will have to come up with something extraordinary to beat Usyk in a rematch.

How can Anthony Joshua beat Oleksandr Usyk?

Anthony Joshua, with his big heavyweight frame, wasn’t able to move as quickly as required to keep up with ‘The Cat’.

That said, he’ll have to work on his movements and ensure that he isn’t a stationary target for the agile Oleksandr Usyk.

On top of that, ‘AJ’ will have to sharpen up his jab because he relied heavily on his right-hand power against Usyk. Hence, all things considered, there’s a lot Joshua has to work on before he gets inside the ring with Usyk again.

If he watches and studies the first fight, he will know everything he needs to correct to regain his titles. Hence, it will be on him to improve and end Usyk’s unbeaten run.
