BREAKING: Boxer Erik Morales Loses Son – WBC President Mourns

Former four-division world champion Erik Morales has come across a harsh reality, losing his 23-year-old son Fernando. The untimely death has undoubtedly affected Morales and his family, including the whole combat world. While he has revealed nothing about how he lost his son, the Mexican legend expressed his sorrow on the Internet.

Boxing fraternity came together to stand beside him, including the WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.45-year-old Morales was a father of three children and had stayed away from family during his boxing career. Later, his political career also demanded a lot of activeness from ‘El Terrible’.

However, he has always been a family man. Per reports, the first Mexican 4-division world champion talked about his family’s sacrifice in one of his interviews.

Referring to the people behind his success, he had said, “But mostly y children, and my wife, who often had to endure my absence for long periods of time. This is not just for me, but for everyone involved in my career.”

Morales’s social media handle reflects multiple posts about his late son. Eight years since his boxing retirement, ‘El Terrible’ Morales finally had some time to spend with family. But the boxer turned political is currently in wake of a horrific phase in which the entire boxing family stands beside him.

Erik Morales is one of a kind

Coming from the land of elite boxers, Morales became one of the finest from Mexico to veer lace the gloves. In a career of 52 wins and 9 losses, ‘El Terrible’ held the world titles multiple times. One of his most remarkable rivalries was with Manny Pacquiao, which began with Morales’s unanimous win over ‘Pac-Man’. However, Pacquiao avenged it with a knockout in the re-match and nourished it with another KO win in the trilogy.
