Canelo Alvarez is one of the best active boxers in the world. The P4P put on yet another fantastic showing against Billy Joe Saunders a week back. However, the celebrations did not stop there for Alvarez. One week later, the Mexican had more to celebrate.

News broke out when the World Boxing Organisation shared a picture on their social media to congratulate the 56-1-2 champion on his special day. The photo showed Alvarez in a gray suit, with his wife Gomez, with the beautiful view of a sunset on a beach in the background. Reports confirmed that the pair tied the knot at the Imanta Resorts Punta de Mita, located in Higuera Blanca, Nayarit, Mexico.

Gomez and Alvarez have been dating for a while now, and the pair even have a daughter. And although the Mexican has had his fair share of controversies regarding his relationships, Alvarez has finally found his match.

What next for Canelo Alvarez?

The decision to get married a week after facing Billy Joe Saunders showed the confidence Alvarez had in winning the fight. Moreover, it revealed that the Mexican was sure he would come out of the bout unscathed. So what next for Alvarez after this new chapter in his life.

The unified champion has already confirmed his ideal next move. He revealed he would chase the bout with Caleb Plant in September. This would give Alvarez the chance to become the first undisputed super-middleweight champion in the sport’s history.
