One of the greatest female fighters on the planet, Claressa Shields, has kept her boxing career on hold and turned all her attention towards MMA. She will now compete in the Professional Fighters League by mid/end of 2021. However, she hasn’t lost sight of the boxing world and responded to her nemesis.
In her recent tweet, she bashed her former opponent Marshall and branded her with the word “weirdo”.
‘A little Birdy told me @Savmarshall1 was talking s**t on here that’s all she can do, she don’t wanna fight me. Weirdo.’

The dispute between Shields and Marshall goes back to 2012 when the pair fought for the first time. Shields was still in her amateur boxing career back then and Marshall handed her her first boxing loss. It remains the American’s only loss in her 64-1 amateur boxing career.
Ever since that defeat, Shields never lost a fight in her professional and amateur career.
For the past few months, the British boxer has painted shots at ‘T-Rex’, and called her out for a rematch. But Shields believes Marshall can only talk instead of settling it in the ring. A month ago, the American boxer was in a chat with DAZN, when she spoke about her rival.
“What annoys me is that Savannah lives off this. What are her accomplishments besides this? Nothing,” she said.

Shields has completely transitioned her focus to MMA and is spending countless hours in the gym training for her first fight. She hasn’t walked away from boxing, but she could be set to direct her attention solely to fighting for the time being.
However, ‘T-Rex’ has expressed her interest to fight in both sports simultaneously and signify herself as the best female fighter on the planet.
