Daniel Dubois Gives Dillian Whyte a ‘Puncher’s Chance’ Against Tyson Fury

Dillian Whyte has enough reasons to claim a shot at Tyson Fury for the WBC world title. ‘The Body Snatcher’ is currently the interim titleholder, and appears to be in talks with WBC regarding an arbitration. Upon fetching his deserved shot, Whyte can be the mandatory contender to Fury’s green belt.

However, the all-English matchup is miles away from potentially coming to life and even if it does, Whyte shall still remain an underdog before the undefeated Tyson Fury. It will seemingly be an intriguing fight, but ‘The Gypsy King’ has shown himself to be superior with his prior performances.

Daniel Dubois, however, has given fair chances to Whyte. Being a surging knockout artist in the division himself, ‘Dynamite’ Dubois has envisioned Tyson Fury to beat Whyte in a possible matchup. However, he didn’t forget to credit Whyte as an elite-level power puncher.

In a chat with The LowDown, Daniel Dubois said, “Surely Dillian’s got a puncher’s chance. Definitely he’s got a chance. He’s worked his way up to the position to challenge. I think Fury wins though. He soaks up punishment and carries on.” (H/T:- Michael Benson)

Dillian Whyte avenged his loss against Alexander Povetkin in his latest outing and stopped the Russian opponent in round four to reclaim his lost WBC Interim heavyweight belt. In an active career of 28-2, Whyte now has 19 KOs in his favor.

Meanwhile, the top-tier prospect has been lurking over a championship scene for a long time and deserves to get a crack now. But Whyte’s financial demands don’t seem to have fallen in term with Fury’s side, jeopardizing the blockbuster heavyweight thriller.

How far is Dillian Whyte from getting Tyson Fury?

WBC champion Fury can return to action in March or April, per his promoter Frank Warren. ‘The Gypsy King’ can put his Ring magazine title at stake, against a below-average opponent until then. While waiting for Dillian Whyte would be a better option, Warren believes Whyte doesn’t deserve the financial demands he has made.

Tyson Fury’s team is looking for an 80/20 split up in their favor and Matchroom’s Whyte doesn’t want to accept these terms. Hence, Fury vs Whyte may not happen anytime soon and Dillian Whyte may have to continue proving his worth by defending his interim status. But a miraculous change in plans can put the Brits against each other in what will be a treat for fight fans.
