Former WBO 168 lbs champion Billy Joe Saunders suffered the maiden loss of his career against Canelo Alvarez via RTD after round eight of their fight. However, he appeared strong and dominated the first half of the contest. That said, his promoter Eddie Hearn, who hailed him, reacted to his brutal eye injury.

Having suffered Canelo Alvarez’s vicious right hand, Saunders’ right eye was completely bruised. Hence, the referee stopped the fight and didn’t let him take more punishment. After the battle, the Matchroom Chairman appeared in the ring and shared his opinion on Saunders’ loss.
