Even after retirement, Floyd Mayweather stays abruptly relevant to the fight world. He is one enigmatic star of boxing, who shattered countless records and cemented his legacy. Until today, he hasn’t completely left boxing and indulges in exhibition boxing bouts. In fact, he was even prepared to confront the YouTuber turned boxer, Logan Paul last month.

However, the fight fell through because of some uncertainties. But Mayweather has assured his fans of staging this bout in the mightiest way for 2021.

In a fresh conversation with Rob Moore, ‘Money’ shed some light on why he prioritized a YouTube fighter over a professional fighter.

He said, “I can guarantee myself 35 million. Eventually, fighting me, 50 million, right? Just a regular fighter right. Or I could meet Logan Paul or a YouTuber. We can go out and entertain and have fun and make nine figures. A $100 million or more.”

As famous as he is for his in-ring skill sets, Mayweather is equally known for his business mindset. He believes a 12-round bout with any primal boxer wouldn’t garner eyeballs like a YouTube fight or the Logan Paul fight.

Also in a full-fledged boxing contest, ‘Pretty Boy’ will have to trace a 12-round fight. Whereas, in an exhibition fight, he can secure a massive paycheck for fighting only 6-8 rounds.

But, ‘Money’ answered all the questions with an Instagram post, stating that he’d fight Logan Paul and enter the ring multiple times this year.

In fact, on his 44th birthday bash, Mayweather asserted that he pushed this bout further because they want the fans to be in the arena in huge numbers. However, nothing has been revealed yet pertaining to the official date, location, and contract for this bout.

The Paul vs Mayweather fight is one of the most talked-about events for 2021. And the fans just wish to see the duo take up the ring space.
