Recently, words from an old fan broke through the digital noise and reached the ears of three-division champion Shakur Stevenson. ‘Sugar’ is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Edwin De Los Santos in what is now labeled as a boring fight. Despite that, Shakur’s fans have shown support for the champion.

Shakur ‘Sugar’ Stevenson recently turned to Instagram to share a story, responding to an elderly fan. Stevenson has long been held as one of the most skilled boxers in the scene, boasting hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe. However, one fan stood out, lording about a new boxer on the scene. Going as far as to crown him the title of ‘the new Sugar Ray, Ali.’ So, it begs the question – who is this boxer? The undefeated 21-0 champion sheds light on it through his recent Instagram story.

In the initial clip, an Instagram user tagged the undefeated champion where an old fan can be seen singing praises of a new boxer. “Known him all my life, right? He is the new Sugar Ray, Ali. He is the s**t. And I want him to know that he is the s**t,” said the fan. While fans were wondering who this mysterious boxer could be.

Shakur ‘Sugar’ Stevenson was quick to respond to the clip of the old fan. Soon after the original clip was shared on the platform, Shakur turned to Instagram with his own story. Shakur tagged the boxer that the old fan was talking about. Wondering who that is? It’s a 13-0 undefeated boxer, Emmanuel Chance, who goes by the moniker ‘Manster.’ With that said, the mayor of East Orange congratulates Chance for his recent achievement.

Mayor congratulates Emmanuel Chance

Emmanuel isn’t the only boxer in his family; his brothers include a pro and the other a regional champion. Chance began his journey in the sport at the tender age of five, with guidance from his father. While he is not eligible to compete in the Olympics, he holds an impressive amateur record of 13-0.

What’s more, representing Team USA and New Jersey, the up-and-coming champion won a silver medal at the 2023 Youth Brandenburg Cup in Germany. For his recent achievement, the Mayor of East Orange and officials congratulated the young boxing sensation for his achievements at the national level.
