Jake Paul, the YouTube sensation turned pro-boxer, might not be a likable character to the hardcore fight fans. However, there’s no denying that Paul understands how to garner attention and has successfully done so in his fighting career by now.

Despite grabbing negative responses, he has bagged a lucrative fight against former UFC star Ben Askren on April 17, chalking up a path to turn himself 3-0 as a professional. With minimal combat accolades under his belt, Paul has already sparked a rivalry with umpteen elite world champion fighters.

From boxing’s P4p king Canelo Alvarez to UFC’s biggest star Conor McGregor, Paul hasn’t shied away from anyone. While he remains the hated trash-talker in the sport, it rightfully validates his nickname of ‘The Problem Child’.

Jake Paul to ‘The Problem Child’

Paul has appeared to be an outspoken personality, speaking out his mind in public interviews and media interactions. Although there doesn’t seem to be an official reason behind picking up the nickname of ‘The Problem Child’, Paul’s love for villainous characters can be a reason behind that.

Speaking with Inked, Paul said, “I think a lot of people shamelessly love the villain and I think even more people quietly love the villain and don’t say that they love the villain.”

He added, “But they’re secretly rooting for the villain. It’s why I have such a strong fan base. I think it’s 50/50; there are 50 percent of people out there who are rooting for me, and on the other hand, there are people who fu*** hate me and they want to see me die in the ring. I love that cause guess what? You still bought the pay-per-view, so thank you.”
