Maurice Hooker Optimistic About Cracking Vergil Ortiz Jr.: “He Never Fought Anybody with No Power”

He said, “Can he crack? We don’t know, I am (going to) find out this week. We never seen him get hit, we never seen him take a shot. He never fought anybody with no power.”

“My reach and my height. I am bigger… But it don’t mean if I don’t use it, coming this week. So I mean I am gonna be smart and be just me.”

Hooker, the former super-lightweight champion, has enjoyed a sublime streak in boxing. He holds 27 wins under his wing with just one loss. In his prolonged career, Hooker has fought many bigwigs in every division he’s stepped in. But stopping Vergil Ortiz Jr. will prove to be a real challenge for him.
