Mike Tyson’s Prison Routine Revealed: How Did He Train in Prison?

The 1990s heavyweight division had many stars in Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Frank Bruno, and more. But if there was one flamboyant star who stirred the entire roster completely, it was undoubtedly Mike Tyson. The latter broke into the limelight with unreal power. However, he made it to the headlines with a fair share of controversies.

Back when he was at the peak of his career, Tyson was convicted in a case and he even went to jail in 1992.

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ served less than three years in prison. But therein he kept himself busy with his workout regimes and more. Recently, Tyson was in a chat with Shannon Sharpe. Here, he spilled the beans on his training routine in the jail.

He said, “I got up early, but they allowed me to work out. I could run wherever I wanted to run. I was able to eat any kind of food I wanted. I really had, listen, that was the best three years of my life, really. I had a really awesome time in prison.”

Before going to prison, ‘Iron’ Mike took his last fight against Donovan Ruddock. Post that, he served less than three years in jail and didn’t really lose on his cosmic heavyweight physique.

On his comeback, Tyson vanquished Peter McNeeley in round 1 itself. This was one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the sport and fans remained desperate to see the old Tyson back.

After his comeback, Mike Tyson piled onto the top again with a few wins. However, he faced some setbacks after losing to rival Evander Holyfield twice.

Despite that, ‘Iron’ Mike’s intent and hunger to be the best always seemed on top. Every time he stepped into the ring, fans and purists expected something special from him.

Finally, in 2005, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ left professional boxing, with a 50-6 record. Furthermore, out of all his wins, the knockout king scored 44 wins via finishes.
