The FIFA World Cup 2023 has been seeing fans across the world extending support to their favorite national teams. And it seems like soccer fever has transitioned to the sport of boxing as well. In fact, two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury even started a poll on Twitter, as England faced Iran.

England faced Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar on November 21, 2022. Moreover, Iran stands at the 20th position in the FIFA rankings, while England takes the 5th position.

Fury is well-known as an avid football fan. In fact, he had even expressed an interest in buying his local football team, Morecambe FC. Talking about the same, he said, “I’ve been offered to buy Morecambe Football Club. I own all the training facilities anyway and the training gym. So who knows? You might be looking at a football club owner.”

So it came as no surprise that Fury was quick to talk about the opening game of FIFA 2022. He mentioned that it was a tough starting game for the world cup.
And also asked his fans for their predictions about the same.

Fans were quick to share their predictions on England’s opening game of FIFA 2022. And it should be said that the responses are pretty one-sided.

A lot of fans were confused as to why Fury mentioned that the match was a ‘tough game’. In fact, they even mentioned that England would stand no chance against Brazil or Argentina if they were unable to beat Iran.

Meanwhile, user @hodgestickle was a bit more diplomatic in their prediction. They went on to highlight the strongpoints of the English team.
However, fans did not shy away from taking a dig at Fury.
