The former 2x NBA champion and kingpin, Lamar Odom, will enter the boxing ring later this year. He has signed a deal with Celebrity Boxing and is aligned for a fight already on June 12. The fight against a yet to be named opponent will take place at Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

However, he’s not the only NBA star to step inside the ring. A couple of months back, another NBA sensation, Nate Robinson touched gloves with the American YouTuber and boxer, Jake Paul.

‘The Problem Child’ staggered Robinson as he landed a vicious KO in just the second round of the fight.

Despite not having an opponent, Odom has already started spending quality training hours in the gym. At 41, he resembles a 20-year-old, who is hungry to make a mark in the boxing world.

‘Lam Lam’ retired from basketball in 2014 but attempted a comeback later. He was also a part of Ice Cube’s Big3 league. Now, he looks primed to be a boxer and will hope to have a reasonable amount of success.

Celebrities from other sports putting on boxing gloves contributes immensely to the sport. Not just they hook in the existing boxing fans, but also attract a mammoth fanbase from their sport.
