Anthony Joshua Once Made Appalling Admission About “Legends” Floyd Mayweather & Tennis Icon Serena Williams

Anthony Joshua, the former pound-for-pound great, once voiced his opinion about the undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and tennis icon Serena Williams.
According to the British heavyweight, despite the achievements in their respective sports, Mayweather and Williams, for some reason, don’t get the respect they deserve.

Joshua took to his official Twitter account and wrote, “I think Floyd Mayweather & Serena Williams do not get the credit they deserve~Legends in their respective sports…”
Apparently, he made this tweet in 2017 when ‘Money’ defeated one of the greatest UFC stars and former champion Conor McGregor in a highly anticipated boxing crossover match.

Joshua and Mayweather have always been on good terms with each other. The Britisher also backed ‘TBE’ during his lead-up to the ‘money fight’ with McGregor. They have always talked highly about each other in interviews and even trained together frequently.
Their relationship might have been the reason Joshua spoke up for Mayweather. He compared Williams and Mayweather because of their greatness in their respective sports. Later, in another tweet, AJ shared the same opinion about British football star Wayne Rooney.

Despite retiring from boxing five years ago with a 50-0 record, the 45-year-old is still active and competes in exhibition matches. ‘Money’ will now clash against mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura in Japan under the RIZIN promotion in September.

His last professional boxing match was against ‘The Notorious’, which Mayweather won via knockout. Later, he competed against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition match and won via knockout in 2018.

After that, Mayweather went to distance against the YouTuber turned boxer, Logan Paul. His very recent exhibition match came against former sparring partner Don Moore last month in Abu Dhabi. This fight also went the distance and ended in no contest.

Now, Mayweather will once again grace the ring against a mixed martial artist in Japan. However, the date and venue for the bout are yet to be announced.
