Laila Ali, daughter of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, is known not only for her impressive boxing career but also for her outspokenness on myriad topics that might concern the public. The former female middleweight champion has spoken up about a range of issues from the dangers of processed foods to the importance of mental health. Now she has shared another concerning post about the dangers of a seemingly normal habit.

Her social media posts often highlight problems  that may not receive as much attention in mainstream media but are nevertheless important for people to be aware of. Ali recently shared a concerning post with her 1.1 million followers on Instagram about the dangers of chewing gum.

The post which was originally uploaded by Dr. Joseph Mercola revealed that plastic in chewing gums contributes to plummeting sperm levels. Moreover, it also detailed the other health effects the plastic found in these gums could have on the human body. Ali shared the post on her instagram story and was sad that even chewing gum is not safe. “Oh Lawd, not gum too!” she wrote.

This latest post on the dangers of chewing gum is particularly concerning because it highlights a problem that many people may not be aware of. Most chewing gum contains plastic, which can be harmful to both human health and the environment.
