Golden Boy Promotions officially declared the acquisition of the unbeaten 140-pound contender Arnold Barboza Jr. (28-0, 10 KOs) on Tuesday. The announcement comes ahead of Barboza Jr.’s inclusion in the DAZN broadcast for the Garcia-Oscar Duarte card. Thus marking a significant development in the junior welterweight division.

In a press release from Golden Boy, Barboza Jr. expressed his eagerness for significant challenges.“I’m prepared for the big fights, ready for the grand events, and eager to compete in L.A., my hometown. I believe that Golden Boy and Oscar will make this happen for me, and they have indeed stepped up, providing me with what I sought.” As stated by The Ring.

Golden Boy’s Youtube page will feature the prelims for the match.In In particular, it kicks off with a four-round super bantamweight clash between Waianae, Hawaii’s Asa ‘Ace’ Stevens, and Dominque Griffin of Irving, Texas. Former Mexican Olympian and bantamweight prospect Gael ‘El Terror’ Cabrera of Mexico, makes a return in a four-round fight against Alejandro Dominguez from Las Vegas. Undefeated Sean Garcia then opens the fight night for his brother Ryan Garcia, participating in a four-round bout against an opponent to be announced.
