This year has been amazing for the champion. Often compared to former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather, Stevenson has made it to the top. First, he thrashed Jamel Herring in October 2021 and took WBO junior lightweight title.
Later, he came to meet the most exciting opponent of his career, Oscar Valdez. The buzz for the fight was pretty intense. As expected, heavy favorite Stevenson dominated the entire bout with pure skill and presence of mind. With this victory, Stevenson unified WBC and WBO junior lightweight titles in April.
As of now, the Champion is most likely to defend his title for the first time against the Brazilian pugilist Robson Conceicao.
Who is Robson Conceicao, Shakur Stevenson’s next opponent?
Robson Conceicao is the Olympic gold medalist and probably the best immediate opponent Stevenson can deal with in the ring. The 33-year-old had produced the biggest threat for Oscar Valdez in their previous bout. However, he lost the fight. But he stunned Valdez with his power and speed.
