No, ‘Mr. Takeover’ isn’t leaving Top Tank right away but the recent move has clearly brought some differences between him and the promotion.

Top Rank has lost the bid on a huge margin and couldn’t even stand opposite Matchroom’s bid for the fight. While they had put only $2.5 million at stake, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom put $3.5 million. However, Triller bagged the rights by bringing in the massive $6.2 million offer.

That said, Teofimo Lopez took to social media after the call, and teased his exit from Bob Arum’s promotion, the same hub that has sheltered him for all the years.

Being the new superstar of the sport, Lopez seems to have found his worth, and he doesn’t want to settle for anything less.

Not only that, but he has also threatened to go to war against Top Rank, citing some scratch in the relationship between him and the promotions. He wrote, “Todd Duboef, you won’t have me back. Get ready because we going to war You pr***.”

Meanwhile, Boxing News 24 claims that Lopez and Top Rank’s ongoing contract with Lopez will expire after 3.5 years. So, there’s still a lot of time left, and Lopez may have to set foot in the ring for Top Rank multiple times. But there’s an escapee from the notion, too.
