Deontay Wilder is used to enjoying a massive fan following and fame in the boxing world. Known for his dreadful knockout power, the 37-year-old has made his name in the sport and is regarded as one of the best heavyweights of all time. However, every action of a professional boxer is left for the world to scrutinize. And something like that recently happened. Wilder made headlines when he was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon since the news went mainstream. His fans and the whole boxing world are left in shock and perplexed.

Deontay Wilder was arrested early morning on May 2. He was pulled over by the cops, which ended with him being taken into custody for carrying a firearm. As reported by TMZ, Wilder was pulled over on a routine check. The cops thought his windows were illegally tinted and his license plate was obstructed. But, this routine check turned out to be rather surprising and shocking for the heavyweight hard hitter.

According to the reports, the cops smelled burnt marijuana from the car. So the cops searched the car. They ended up finding some marijuana and a 9mm weapon in the car. Wilder was then put under arrest. The ferocious heavyweight was cooperative and nice throughout the process, as the sources alleged.

Since his arrest, after spending hours in custody, Wilder reportedly was bonded out after paying $35000. Meanwhile, the boxing world is waiting for the 37-year-old to return to the boxing ring. The former champion is rumored to be in talks for a super fight against Anthony Joshua to be held in Saudi Arabia. An official announcement is yet to be made about the same. It is unclear whether this arrest will impact the fight negotiations.
