Badou Jack and Amer Abdallah joined Mike Tyson and Henry Cejudo on the latest Hotboxin’ podcast episode. They talked about the collapse of his matchup with Jean Pascal in June and also discussed the next moves for Badou Jack. While talking about ongoing negotiations between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant, Mike Tyson advised Badou Jack to fight Canelo Alvarez. He added that a matchup between the two would do great numbers and that it would make sense for both fighters.

This is that money right here. This is your retirement fight right here,” said Mike Tyson.

However, Badou Jack did not seem on board with that idea and said he would not want to wait two or three years for that to work out. Jack recently revealed he wants to make a move to the 200 lbs (cruiserweight) division, as sticking to 175 lbs is getting tougher for him, given his age. He said that he does not see much competition in cruiserweight, but added he does not like to cut weight. Further, the former two-division champ did not show any inclination towards a fight with Canelo Alvarez.

Who can Badou Jack fight at cruiserweight?

The former super-middleweight and light-heavyweight champion has a record of 24 wins, 3 losses, and 3 draws. He now aims to become a three-division champ. To shoot for gold, he will have to face the likes of Mairis Briedis (IBF), Ilunga Makabu (WBC), Arsen Goulamirian (WBA), and Lawrence Okolie (WBO), who are currently the top contenders in the cruiserweight division.

Apart from advising Jack to fight Canelo Alvarez, Mike Tyson also asked him to pursue a balance between fighting top contenders and fighting influencer-turned-boxers like Logan Paul and Jake Paul. Tyson highlighted Jack must consider such money fights as well.
