Internet sensation Jake Paul has taken center stage in the combat sports world. The YouTuber turned boxer is on the lookout for a new opponent for his next fight after his victory over Ben Askren. Tommy Fury is a potential opponent.

The younger brother of WBC champion Tyson Fury has had his history with ‘The Problem Child’. The two fighters engaged in an ugly war of words on social media. Since then, rumors have speculated that they would face each other. And ‘TNT’ has had his say on the fight.

The 5-0 boxer spoke to talkSPORT and said, “On paper we’re the same, so if he wants to be cocky and go on like he’s Floyd Mayweather, come and fight me. And if you don’t, stop using the Fury name to gain relevance in the boxing world.”

This comment from Fury showed his frustration at being called out without getting an offer. He then demanded a contract from Paul. “We’ll take the fight. If he sent the contract over tonight, it’d be signed and delivered straight back to him. All I see for that fight is easy money against an idiot.”

Tommy Fury says his mother could beat Ben Askren

Based on his comments, it is clear that ‘TNT’ doesn’t rate Jake Paul’s boxing skills. Moreover, it showed his disapproval of ‘The Problem Child’s behavior in the sport. He even questioned the YouTuber’s choice of opponents.

Fury said, “I’d put my mother in with Ben Askren and my mother would chin him because he’s no good, he’s useless, he’s a wrestler.”

This was one of the biggest criticisms Jake Paul received after he announced he would fight ‘Funky’ Ben. Many questioned why he was facing an MMA wrestler rather than a boxer. However, Paul has since pointed out his third professional fight was a bigger event than that of some of boxing’s biggest names.

Regardless of this, the interview with Tommy Fury showed just how much he wants to face Paul. Furthermore, even his promoter, Frank Warren, confirmed that they would take the fight for a 50-50 split.
