Win or lose, Tyson Fury appears to be on Billy Joe Saunders’s corner in every situation. The WBC heavyweight champion has been supporting his compatriot throughout the fight week. He even envisioned ‘Superb’ beating Canelo Alvarez.

While Saunders couldn’t claim the win, he definitely showcased his A-game and earned a lot of appraisals from the boxing community. That said, many fans have also ridiculed his performance.

However, ‘The Gypsy King’ has expressed his support for ‘Superb’ Saunders once again. The heavyweight legend took to social media and left an emotional message for the former WBO super middleweight champion.

Tyson Fury wrote, “people love to hate on others willing to chase their dreams. (Billy Joe Saunders) tried to be great last night! It wasn’t his night but at least he had the bottle to follow his dreams & heart, he will always be my bro we go back to 15/16, what a night to remember in 30 years dallas.”

Despite suffering a round eight RTD, Saunders seemingly revealed a lot of loopholes in Canelo Alvarez’s game. He troubled the Mexican elite in the primary stage of the fight and remained the aggressor. Adding to that, Saunders was also leading on the judges’ scorecards.

But Alvarez bounced back and unveiled his best shots. He cracked Saunders with a vicious uppercut and injured his right eye. Although the Brit boxer seemed eager to continue, his cornermen didn’t let him take any more damage. Hence, Alvarez was awarded the win and the WBC, WBA, WBO, and Ring 168lbs straps.

30-1 as a pro, Saunders is backed by the best boxers of this generation. His long-time companion, Tyson Fury (30-0-1), has always been supportive of ‘Superb’. So, the 31-year-old can rightly bounce back from the sole career loss.

He is already a two-division champion. Also, he is a top-tier name in the super middleweight division. While he is no longer the champion, Billy Joe Saunders can look for another successful championship run ahead. Though he might have to walk an extra mile, he has legitimate chances of recapturing his lost throne.
