In a matter of weeks, Tyson Fury will make his return to the ring against Francis Ngannou. The WBC heavyweight champion was garnering flack for not defending his belts against the MMA fighter. However, many people are eager to see this mega-crossover bout take place, including  Mike Tyson. The former heavyweight champion is invested in the bout— not just as a viewer but also as a trainer. He is training none other than the former UFC heavyweight champion of the world Ngannou.

In several public appearances, Tyson has spoken highly of Ngannou and his power. On his Instagram account, he penned a one-line message while hyping up the upcoming heavyweight clash. But, what did he say?

Unlike many boxing pundits and fans, Tyson could not be any more excited. He acknowledged that Ngannou’s experience in the squared circle is not comparable to that of Fury. But at the same time, he does not disregard the possibility of an upset. Moreover, he considers that both combatants are two big heavyweights and best in their respective sports. Subsequently, this match-up becomes exciting not just for him but the entire boxing world. While sharing a fight promo on his Instagram story, he stated, “We are getting close to seeing the clash of these two titans. Both champion. October 28th we will crown the real king of the ring.”

In an ideal world, Tyson would be inclined for Ngannou to win as he is training him. But the chances of the same appear slim at least on paper. However, the sport of boxing is unpredictable, especially when you have power like Ngannou. What will go down in the fight? Time will tell. Fury thinks there is no reward if he wins the fight as he is the heavy favorite going into the bout. In addition, he feels there is a big risk involved as a defeat against an opponent who has never stepped in the boxing ring could tarnish his legacy. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Listen, all men that get in the ring with me, one, they are getting a lottery win. Straight away. Then, if they can beat me, then their lives and family lives have changed forever.”
