“What a Stain on a Legacy” – Logan Paul on Canelo Alvarez’s Upset Loss Against Dmitry Bivol

The defeat of Canelo Alvarez against Dmitry Bivol is one of the biggest upsets for the boxing fraternity. In the same vein, Logan Paul shared thoughts on Alvarez’s recent loss.

 

The interviewer asked Paul about his views on Alvarez’s defeat. ‘The Maverick’ discussed how he felt about it. He said, “That whole situation is sad. Oh, man! No, he’s not washed. He’s not, he’s Canelo, he’s not washed. He’s one of the best boxers ever. But it does just s*ck. What a, what a stain on a legacy. It’s just a stain, but it’s, it’s there.”

The Mexican superstar has had an illustrious career and achieved a great feat. Hence, Paul thinks that it’s not a complete downfall for Alvarez but a small failure in his celebrated career.

Legacy of Canelo Alvarez

The Mexican superstar had impressed the boxing fraternity because of his victories over prominent boxers like Gennady Golovkin, Amir Khan, and Miguel Cotto. 

Subsequently, he has 57 wins to his name out of which 39 came by the way of knockout. He is regarded as one of the finest boxers of his era. In addition, Alvarez is currently the undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world.

The last time Canelo lost a bout

The 31-year-old Alvarez debuted in 2005 in professional boxing. Since then, he lost only two bouts in his career to date. 

The first defeat of Alvarez came in the year 2013 when he faced the legendary and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Pretty Boy’ dominated the then-young Alvarez with his fine technique and well-versed boxing skills. As a result, Mayweather won the fight by a decision.

However, Alvarez took positive feedback from this defeat and went on for his conquest in the succeeding years. He didn’t lose any fight after that until Bivol defeated him during their last encounter.
