Argentine Soccer star Lionel Messi, widely regarded as the best player in the world, is once again making headlines as he prepares to change clubs. In a recent episode of Logan’s popular podcast ImPaulsive, the panel delved into the details of Messi’s new contract. The discussion shed light on the fascinating aspects of the deal and the potential implications for the football world.

After Paul asked co-host Mike Majlak about the details of the contract, the latter revealed that Messi had a deal valued between $125 and $150 million. The duration of this contract would be two and a half years, with an option to extend to 2026. However, what caught the attention of the panel was an astounding offer he turned down. Apparently, the Saudi Arabian football scene presented Messi with a jaw-dropping offer of $1.6 billion for three years.

They took a deal valued between $125 and $150 million for two and a half years, with an option in 2026. Uh, but, but it’s more so what he turned down. Evidently, there was an offer from Saudi for $1.6 billion for three years,” said Majlak.

The panel also speculated that the Soccer star will earn even more through the deal with Inter Miami. This would be thanks to various incentives and benefits that came with the deal including some stake in the club as well.

A member of the panel claimed that Messi will share profits with two of MLS’s biggest commercial partners, Apple and Adidas. Additionally, Messi has the opportunity to purchase a minority stake in Inter Miami. This will make him the second footballer with a minority stake in the club along with English legend David Beckham.

There’s equity. There’s equity. He gets equity in Adidas. No, I understand there’s profit sharing, but he also gets equity in the team. He gets equity in the Miami Football Club,” said Majlak.
