What started as social media banter has escalated to a point where both parties want a fight. The Drew McIntyre-Tyson Fury feud has picked up with the WBC champ doing everything he can to goad the WWE champion into facing him. Earlier today, Fury went to what he thought was McIntyre’s home city and tried to ‘find him’.

The Gypsy King‘ tagged the WWE champion in his Twitter callout and received a five-point response. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ dispelled Fury’s notion about his hometown and explained his absence from Scotland. In the latter points, he trolled the undefeated boxer.

McIntyre wrote, “1. I’m from Ayr 2. There’s a pandemic. The moment I can come home for my World Title tour we’ll talk in person 3. You’re still a big stiff idiot 4. Stop using filters you weirdo 5. Do you want me to start paying rent? It’s unfair I live in your head for free”

McIntyre hasn’t returned to Europe since claiming the belt. This was because the WWE had to cancel their annual UK leg of events in April because of the pandemic. Also, when McIntyre walks out, he is billed from Ayr, Scotland.

Given the frequent call-outs, the WWE champion believes he is in Tyson Fury’s head.

Tyson Fury, Drew McIntyre, and the WWE want this match

The cross-promotional fight between two of the biggest names in British combat sports will be a sight to behold. Despite having fought against Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua in the offing, ‘The Gypsy King’ is keen on punching McIntyre in the face.

Also, McIntyre, who must defend against Randy Orton, is content with the way things stand as he sent ‘The Viper’ to the hospital last Monday on Raw.

Fury agreed to WWE Executive Vice President Paul Levesque’s claim that they could make the match work for all involved. However, ‘The Game’ had a plan to sell out stadiums, which may not be possible until the coronavirus is a thing of the past.

Neither Fury nor McIntyre can cross continents to have a physical confrontation and build the fight. This could put it on ice for the time being, with both fighters learning more about the other. For Fury, this will be all the things McIntyre called him and his proposed opponent’s real home city.

Their social media banter seems to be sufficient to keep fans ready and will only intensify in the coming weeks before their inevitable clash. What do you make of Drew McIntyre’s response to ‘The Gypsy King?’
