Earlier this week, the official Twitter handle of the Circuit of the Americas tweeted about their new ‘Sausage Kerbs’. Many perceived it as a sly dig at Max Verstappen who cut the corner last year to overtake Kimi Raikkonen.

However, the same ‘Sausage Kerbs’ came back to bite the Dutchman. During the Q1 session of Qualifying, Verstappen clipped the kerb and wrecked his right rear suspension. Fortunately, he was able to return to the pitlane and the team raced to fix the broken wishbone. Sadly, even though he escaped elimination in Q1, he was unable to participate in Q2.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the incident.
