Ole Gunnar Solskjær hasn’t been the most popular guy at Old Trafford in recent weeks. Though it went from bad to worst for the Manchester United manager as his side lost 2-0 to an impressive Burnley team.

Being 2-0 down to Burnley isn’t something new to the Red Devils. As they have faced similar situations in the last two seasons. Though what was different this time around was that they couldn’t stage a gutsy comeback as they had in past.

However, One maybe sympathetic with Ole Gunnar Solskjær for not having his best eleven at his disposal. As he has his three key players out in Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.  Though you can still expect better from a club as big as Manchester United.

Manchester United’s Poor Run Continues

Even with the costliest Centre-back and full-back in their back four, United struggled to stop Burnley from scoring. Firstly it was Chris Wood opened the scoring as Sean Dyche’s men took full advantage of a promising free-kick. It was Dwight McNeil who took the free-kick which was flicked on by Ben Mee for Wood to smash past United’s defence.

In the second half, while Manchester United would have planned a comeback. Their hopes were shattered as Jay Rodriguez double the lead for the visitors. Rodriguez played a nice one-two with striker partner Chris Wood and applied a world-class finish to beat David De Gea on his near post.

There was no coming back for Solskjær’s men even though they tried their hardest. That loss leaves Manchester United in 5th with Chelsea six points ahead in fourth. While Sean Dyche pushes Burnley ever so closer to safety as they sit 7 points clear of the relegation zone in 13th.

“There are loads of thoughts going through my mind. At one point it felt like we were creating openings and didn’t take them. Now, it’s one of disappointment. We hold our hands up, it is not good enough.

“The players are giving everything, they have done absolutely fantastic so far this season but they know it wasn’t good enough tonight.”
