Every year, since 2003, we have seen a new Call of Duty title. This year treated us to an exciting additional Battle Royale game, Call Of Duty Warzone. But we are still waiting to see what the devs at Activision and Treyarch have in store for us with this year’s big release. Because of the global pandemic situation, we have yet to see an official announcement or reveal of the Call Of Duty 2020.
Popular insider news provider Tom Henderson gave us more bad news when he tweeted this:
Continuing with the bad news. I also got word that the next CoD reveal might be pushed back into August. pic.twitter.com/5aJEusLbId

But fret not, for every delay means there is more information to be found and leaks to be acknowledged. And fans of the franchise have already been doing that. There have been a ton of rumors and leaks already, suggesting that this year’s CoD title will be called Black Ops: Cold War/Vietnam. It is also believed that the game will be announced in an official reveal in Call Of Duty Warzone. Remember the nuke we saw in the bunker? Turns out, it is meant to play some part in the reveal.
More recently, something called ‘The Red Door’ showed up on the Xbox store. Fans consider this to be a pseudonym for this year’s Call Of Duty title, thanks to earlier leaks. The description reads,
“There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare to step through it?”
Latest Call Of Duty 2020 updates
Popular YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ thinks this definitely tracks back to Black Ops 4, which used the marketing line ‘forget what you know.’ This year’s CoD title is rumored to be based during the Cold War and we might see new characters for Sgt. Woods and Alex Mason. He also mentions that ‘The Red Door’ is a reference to the Rolling Stones song called ‘Paint It Black’, which was in the Black Ops 3 reveal trailer.
Someone actually managed to download ‘The Red Door’ from the Xbox Live store. Apparently, the title is called ‘Call Of Duty Black Ops CIA.’ This changes things as the CoD Cold War and Vietnam were said to be the probable titles so far.
The person who downloaded the game managed to boot up the title screen but can’t really play it since he doesn’t have access to it. But this reveal could change a lot of things about the upcoming title, including the gameplay and campaign. Stay tuned for further updates.
