Despite spending tremendous amounts on development, AAA titles like Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War often fall prey to certain bugs and glitches. While a maximum of these coding errors cause no significant harm, some end up breaking the game’s meta.
However, the latest glitch to make this list does not fit in either of the aforementioned categories. The Call of Duty community recognizes it not for the inconvenience it causes, but for the fact that the same glitch belonged to a title that had released in 2018.
A recent post on r/blackopscoldwar mentioned the Legacy Gunship glitch, and its long history:
The Legacy Gunship glitch first appeared in the 2018 title Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Surprisingly, Reddit user u/Pony_Baloney remembers reporting the “exact same” glitch on r/Blackops4 two years ago:
Sometimes, calling a Gunship in Black Ops Cold War fails as the character immediately closes the laptop after opening it while claiming that the Gunship is “out of fuel”.
Considering that unlocking the Gunship scorestreak in the latest Call of Duty titles requires players to grind really hard, this glitch is certainly a huge disappointment among the players. It unlocks at level 54 and is available as a reward at a staggering 10,000 score.
It is worth noting that such glitches are not exclusive to Call of Duty’s latest title. Players have often encountered similar issues in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
While a looping error code recently locked the players out of Modern Warfare, a glitch in Warzone led to them getting respawned infinitely. Another popular glitch to trouble players around the world was the ‘infinite stims’ glitch. Apparently, they could stay in the gas and heal themselves unconditionally.
Even though the developers are always quick to take action and remove such errors as soon as possible, Treyarch is yet to make a statement on the Legacy Gunship glitch.
Have you ever encountered the Legacy Gunship glitch in Black Ops Cold War or Black Ops 4?
