Infinity Ward, developers of both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone recently released a playlist update for the games. They targeted the update majorly at shifting a few modes in the wake of ‘Haunting of Verdansk’ event. The update listed only three changes in Warzone.

The developers removed the Juggernaut mode, added Plunder: Quads, and changed Halloween BR Solos to BR Monster Quads through the playlist update. However, players discovered that the developers have tucked in a secret nerf as well. They nerfed a notorious shotgun that had been terrorizing players in Verdansk.

The JAK-12 shotgun was way too powerful. Moreover, it didn’t really require much skill to play with. This made the weapon unbeatable in close range. Therefore, a lot of people who didn’t depend on skills to win loved to play with the gun. However, a majority wanted it nerfed.

To make Warzone a balanced game, the developers have answered the prayers of their user base. They have reduced the fire rate of the shotgun when used with FRAG-12 ammo. Moreover, they have also made changes to the effect attachments have on gameplay. Therefore, they have reduced movement and ADS speed if players use the drum mags on the shotgun. This will severely reduce the time it takes the JAK-12 to fire balancing out the high damage.

Apart from the shotgun nerf, there have been a few bug fixes as well. Infinity Ward also removed the Durable Gas Masks they had added earlier.

Although the developers are working extremely hard to fix these issues, powerful guns and bugs aren’t the major problems. What haunts players the most is a plague of hackers and cheaters in the game.

While Halloween is popular for hauntings, hackers are the ones truly spreading fear in the game. If Infinity Ward really wants to please fans during the festivities, they will have to try to get rid of hackers.
