“All This Just to Get Torched”: Jermell Charlo’s Training Clip Does Not Sit Well With the Fans Ahead of the Canelo Alvarez Bout

Jermell Charlo is preparing to go to war with Canelo Alvarez. The Louisiana-born is the challenger to Alvarez’s undisputed super-middleweight world championship title. And, even though he filled in the shoes of his twin brother, who decided not to go ahead with the fight, it seems like Jermell Charlo is not taking the fight lightly. This is Charlo’s opportunity to make a mark and do something not many have been able to do. Moreover, the 33-year-old has been training hard to ensure that he is at the top of his game on fight night.

Charlo recently took to his social media to share with his fans what he will be bringing to the ring on the night of September 30. The training clip shows Charlo’s agility and strength in preparation for the bout with the Mexican. But it seems like his clip failed to impress the fans, and many are certain that he doesn’t stand a chance against ‘common.’

Michael Benson from TalkSport took to his Twitter to share the training clip originally posted by Jermell Charlo on his social media. The clip is a training montage of Charlo training with his coach. The clip shows Charlo’s immense speed and agility while doing mitts work with the trainer.

In the clip, Charlo can be seen working on his attack. It seems like Charlo is not leaving any stone unturned to work on every aspect of his boxing performance. He is determined to not give the reigning champion any chance to get an opening. However, even though the clip shows Charlo’s hard work, he failed to leave a mark on the fans. @TheDaggerMMA, for example, believes all of this hard work is futile. As they wrote, “All this just to get torched.” 

@Gavin1393 has pointed out some mistakes he observed in Charlo’s technique. And it seems like he already has an idea why Charlo would lose to Alvarez.

@ABLJ73 believes Alvarez will finish Charlo in 5 rounds.

@IIBmenII believes that if Charlo fights Alvarez like this, he will definitely lose.

This fight, even though unexpected, has the fans on the edge of their seats. Charlo having the opportunity to do what not many have been able to do has only added to the excitement. However, it seems like the training clip has just added to fans’ confidence in Alvarez.
